BEING HOME IS DRIVING ME CRAZY

I have been trying to keep myself busy doing things around the house. There are so many projects I want to be doing, only I can't because we don't have the money to do them. I've been trying to make my kitchen have that Tuscan look and it is hard when you don't have money. I took a trip to Lowe's today with my mother. I was going for a dream list and she needed a few things. I looked at all the idea that I had for my kitchen to see how much it would cost. The paint idea that I found on line for Lowe's was wwwwwwaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy more then I thought. So that went out the window. I got the info on how to do it.

I took some of the paint I already had and tried it behind the refrigerator. I tried to get that look. It just wasn't happening. I guess you have to buy that $$$$ stuff. I can't so I went to Wal-Mart (The store I hate going in, and is becoming the only place for me to shop) and picked up a finish sponge. I'm going to try that in the morning. Maybe that will give me that look I'm going for. If not I guess I'm just going to pick a color and paint. But what color do I pick that will give me that Tuscan look??????????

The other project that I started working on last week was a back splashes for behind my stove. Only it didn't come out as planned. I was going to put up this wallpaper that I painted. Here it is...

It looks like tin ceiling. I painted it with a color I "thought" looked good. When I held it by the stove, I hated it. So I got the idea of getting the stuff at Lowe's. It is a decorative thermoplastic panels create an instant designer look. Just what I'm going for. There are so many to pick from. They are about $20.00 a sheet. I know that is a bit much. I would like to start with one behind the stove and when we can, do the whole back splash. It is a lot less then tile, like I wanted to do.

We also need a new faucet!! I fell in love with one today, but again way to much money!!!! I'm going to save up for it because I really love the color. It's black with rings of copper. Just like the copper back splash.

I also would like my light above the kitchen table, the sink, and island to be copper. I check them out to. They are also way to much for me!! So I stopped at Wal-Mart and picked up a can of Copper Rust-Oleum. I'm going to spray them. I will test it on something first. New lights, $5.00!! Can't go wrong with that. I just hope it really works.
Wish me luck with my new kitchen, that will take me awhile to get done!! But I'm going to have fun working on it no matter how long it take to make it all come together. I have a project to work on and that makes me happy. I'm going to be doing some touch up painting in the computer room too, also repainting the living room with paint I already have!! FUN FUN FUN!!!

Google what you need or want to do to get advise, from years of internet postings. Make a decision if its sound advise and cost effective. Lots of people have found the answers to fix it, save money ideas and more just by asking Google to ask the world. Give it a try?

I know where you are coming from! We are getting our house ready to put on the market. And, we don't want to invest a lot into it but there are just some things you need to repair, like the back of the bedroom door where Shelly and Becky marked their heights and where Shelly checked out nail polish colors on one windowsill...huh?
