NEW ADDITION TO OUR FAMILY

We have a new addition to our family. It was very unexpected. We had to decide to fast. We're not sure if we made the right decision. Here's the story. Our friend Becky's step father Rusty, wanted to give away his cat Elvira. The cat was his "X's" cat. He was sick of all the cat hair. He also has a dog and feels that is enough for him to take care of. I heard that he was going to give her away. When John and I would go and visit we would always tried to take the cat home with us because she is sssssssssooooooooooooooo loving. You hold Elvira and she would put both paws on your shoulders and hug you while rubbing your face with hers. She would sit in you lap just wanting to be loved. So when we found out we had to decide fast because he wanted her gone. Our cat Dallas is fading, but at a slow pace. We were thinking of getting a kitten but thought Sadie our dog would try to eat it. So we thought of getting a grown cat, but when Dallas passes. So here we are stuck with deciding what to do. We took Elvira there was no way we were going to let her go. We have her in the basement right now. Our problem is now we have two other cats that don't know about her yet and a dog knows and wants to play with her or eat her, not sure yet. I let Sadie see and smell Elvira while on a leash. Sadie almost got her eyes scratched out.

Elvira is down stair walking around like she owns the place. We have had John's mother's cat one time and she was scared walking around looking at everything. Elvira walks with no fear at all. That's why I'm afraid to put her with the other cats. I think she would fight with them. Elvira is an indoor, outdoor cat. So that is another reason we are not sure we made the right decision. We are not going to let her out. I'm hoping she won't scratch the furniture or pee anywhere. We have her kitty pan from her house so she should know to use it "I hope and pray".

What did we get our selves into. I love animals way to much. I would have a farm if I could. I have to save all that need to be saved. I'm a sucker when it comes to those in need.
