Internet

The Internet is a powerful thing in many ways. People are finding long lost loves, lost children, and old classmates. Then you have people who are looking for pictures of where they used to live, pictures for a school project. People use the Internet for work, games, networking, and things they really, really shouldn't be doing!! You know who you are!! lol

I never really understood how people could just sit down and chat with someone they don't know and fall in love without ever meeting the person. Not that I do now.....but I have a better understanding.

I started selling my jewelry on Etsy.com. Within Etsy there are places you can chat and send emails to others. Well within doing so I have met a wonderful woman name Jackie. We have been chatting for about 3 months and she now has a spot in my heart. I never thought you could feel for a person you have never met before. Jackie and I have talked on the phone once and it wasn't for long. She called to let me know that I was on the front of the Etsy page. That was so sweet of her to do that.

It is amazing how a person can touch your heart and make you feel so much better. There are days that I'm feeling really down but I don't tell anyone and pop there is a message from Jackie about something and it gets me out of that funk. Like today I was not in a good place at all. I laid down in the middle of the day it was that bad of a funk. Then in the mail I got this........

To have something Jackie made.....made for me. Jackie just posted Koi Fish Zippered purses so I told her that I love the Koi Fish because the meaning behind them! I love them so much I'm having a tattoo done on the 21st of them, because of the meaning. I got this info from the Internet on WikiAnswers. See the Internet is used in so many ways ... lol

According to Japanese legend, if a koi succeeded in climbing the falls at a point called Dragon Gate on the Yellow River, it would be transformed into a dragon. Based on that legend, it became a symbol of worldly aspiration and advancement.
More generally, the Japanese associate koi (also known as carp) with perseverance in adversity and strength of purpose. Because of its strength and determination to overcome obstacles, it stands for courage and the ability to attain high goals.

So when I opened the gift the bad funk went away really fast. It wasn't just the purse. It was the meaning behind the purse and who it came from!! Thank you so much Jackie!! Thank you for being YOU!!

So now I have a little more understanding how you can get so attached to someone over the Internet that you never met in person.

Please check out the beautiful work that Jackie does!!!!! This is her Etsy shop page:

You are truly an angel, Susan, and I feel the same way about you. I am blessed to have a friend like you to travel down the etsy road with!

I hadn't heard that story about the koi fish trying to swim up the falls to become dragons.
